Chapter Eight

King Tut's Burial Chamber

“We are trapped,” groaned Kathryn. “There is no other way out.”

The girls had searched the room for many hours but they had not found any other way to escape. The huge stone was still blocking the entrance. They could hear Ralph and Turtle talking as the villains stood guard outside.

The Jones sisters were tired and hungry.

It had been a long time since they had eaten or drunk any water.

Isabelle didn’t want to surrender but her sister looked very weak. She was worried. She had no choice. She had to take care of her sister.

She pounded on the stone and shouted, “We give up! Let us out!”

Several minutes later, the stone was rolled away.

Isabelle crawled out, blinking at the strong light. Kathryn followed closely behind her. Ralph and Turtle were standing there with weapons pointed at them.

“Not so smart after all,” Turtle mocked them.

Kathryn stuck her tongue out at him.

“Put this on!” Ralph ordered as he chucked some handcuffs at them.

The Jones sisters reluctantly put on the handcuffs.

“Walk!” Turtle instructed the girls as the two villains shoved them in the direction of the main room.

“Where are you taking us?” Isabelle demanded.

“Far, far away from here,” answered Turtle nastily, “where you will never be found!”

The villains pushed the sisters out of King Tut’s tomb into a waiting truck.

“How are we going to escape?” Kathryn whispered into her sister’s ear.

Isabelle shook her head and answered, “I don’t know.”

The situation didn’t look good.

All of a sudden, ropes fell from the sky all around the truck and girls dressed entirely in cool, black outfits slid down the ropes.

“What is going on?” Kathryn cried out.

“S.P.Y. Agents! They have come to our rescue!” answered Isabelle.

“Did you know they were coming?” asked Kathryn.

“Nope,” replied Isabelle.

“How on earth did they track us here?” wondered Kathryn. It was a mystery to her.

All their spy sisters surrounded the bad guys and captured them.

A helicopter landed and Mona stepped out. Mona was Father’s assistant, a sixty-three-year old mother of two former S.P.Y. agents and now a grandmother of four teenage boys. She was probably the only one who knew Father’s real identity.

“What is Mona doing here? She never leaves the office,” exclaimed Kathryn.

The questions were starting to pile up.

Mona hurried over to them.

“Are you all right, girls? Are you hurt?” asked Mona as she looked them over quickly before giving them a hug.

“We are fine, Mona,” promised Isabelle. “How did you manage to find us?”

“We were so worried when the two of you didn’t check in for over a day. You told Father that you were following the truck with the stolen treasures but you failed to call him after that.”

“We wanted to but we couldn’t.” Then, Isabelle repeated her earlier question. “So, how did you find us?”

“We used the tracker,” replied Mona.

“Tracker?” Kathryn was confused.

“Yes,” Mona explained as she pointed to the necklaces both sisters were wearing. “We started tracking you after your mission in Paris. We wanted to be able to know where you both were all the time, in case you were ever in danger.
